| OPTIMIZATION IN DEPTH |
 |
 |
|
Search Engines use complex algorithms to define the paramaters of search results.
Factors which possibly effect search engine listings:
-Keywords/Keyword Phrases (number used, placement, etc.)
-Amount of text (in the visible copy, in all the tags, etc.)
-Tags (length, number of keywords, repetition of keywords, etc.)
-Links from other sites (number of links, quality of the sites linking, etc.)
It is important to note that while search engines are getting smarter, they still do not understand
how to index all pages. Some search engines have problems with the following:
-Acrobat Files
-Frames
-Images
-Dynamic Pages
In cases where these programming techniqes are used, it might be necessary to set up 'doorway' pages to act as search engine friendly paths to the site.
Because every search engine has different algorithms and the algorithms constantly change,
optimization has to be balanced for the top search engines.
